The National Eligibility Test also is known as UGC NET, is a National level test which is conducted to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for ‘Assistant Professor’ and ‘Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor’ in Indian universities and colleges.
In simple words, one must have to clear the UGC NET Exam, if s/he wanted to serve their self as an assistant professor in any Indian universities or colleges. E.g. if you wanted to be Assistant Professor of Psychology, you need to clear the NET exam in Psychology.
On the other hand, the objective of the JRF scheme is to provide opportunities to NET JRF-qualified candidates to undertake advanced studies and research in the concerned filed. As per revised emoluments stipend if you cleared UGC JRF and join for Ph.D. from any research institutions. Then UGC will provide you with the stipend of 31000 per month + HRA (for initial 2 years).
Till June 2018, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the UGC NET exam on behalf of University Grant Commission, also known as UGC. But from December 2018 onwards, the UGC- NET Exam is being conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
Test UGC-NET is conducted twice a year in the month of June and December. The exam is considered as one of the toughest exams in India, with a success ratio of merely 6%. So, students keen to clear the NET JRF Exam need and proper preparation with a positive approach.

As per revised emoluments stipend if you cleared UGC JRF and join for Ph.D. from any research institutions. Then UGC will provide you with the stipend of 31000 per month + HRA (for initial 2 years).
Till June 2018, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the UGC NET exam on behalf of University Grant Commission, also known as UGC. But from December 2018 onwards, the UGC- NET Exam is being conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
